BEDROOM SECTOR WILL BENEFIT FROM HOUSING GOOD NEWS

Whilst the start of the year has not brought much good news in terms of forecasts for the general economy, there are some glimmers of good news for the housing market which will benefit the bedroom sector.

Many commentators are predicting that the UK is already double dipped back into recession and construction output is forecast to fall by more than 5% this year and remain flat throughout 2013.
Despite this the government has promised some new initiatives that should have a positive impact on the housing market. The housing market will also benefit from the Olympics; house prices have been rising in the area and following the games almost 5000 new homes will be released into the market from the Olympic village and future development plots.
More good news can be found from the results of some of the major house builders. Persimmon recently announced that site visitors were up by 20% on 2011 for the first weekend of 2012.  They also said that the government’s proposed mortgage guarantee scheme, due to launch in March may help increase business by up to 15% in the second half of the year. Taylor Wimpey said that the first two weeks of 2012 have seen a continuation of the encouraging market at the end of last year, with good visitor levels and healthy reservations and Bovis said it is well positioned to improve returns in 2012 and beyond.

The fitted bedroom market is especially linked to the housing market as most new builds are space sensitive.  Innovative and space saving storage solutions are high on house buyers priorities which is good news for retailers and manufacturers of such products.
Here at Hepplewhite we are looking to maximize on the positives and deliver our retailers with the very best products and service so that they can make the most of the opportunities that 2012 will bring.
Details of our new limited edition Fairfield range and the January sales promotion are available on our website, http://www.hepplewhitefittedfurniture.co.uk/.  These represent exciting new initiatives, both of which are designed to help boost sales.

We would welcome feedback and comments on how the first few months of the year progress as we would like to share more with you via our digital channels during the year.
