Paris For Holidays.

For the last couple of days I've been wondering where I would like to go for a short holiday. The beach could be an option, though this year I had it a lot (that's one of the best things about living in Portugal and of course having my family living by the beach).

I thought of Barcelona, Madrid and the Açores, these beautiful Portuguese islands in the middle of the Atlantic, but none of these places really convinced me. I guess I'm looking for something more... romantic? Chic? Cosmopolitan? Maybe with a French accent?

I've been there a few times but Paris is indeed that city where I feel comfortable, somehow at home.

I would love to speak proper French. I do understand it, I can fully read it but when it comes to speak I get shy! Can you imagine?

À La Rentrée!

Summer is indeed the best season in the year. We catch up with friends and family we get to see once a year, we have the beach to go to, look healthier, eat healthier, feel happier, find reasons to be outside all night long drinking Margaritas, though I always get to the point I miss to retreat. Maybe because I am lucky enough to enjoy all these pleasures since early May, I already started feeling the need to retreat (well, it's getting cool here in Lisbon, perhaps that's why).

Galleries and museums are part of my retreat. I love to visit art installations in the Autumn. They have a better fit. Everything feels right. It's as if I've been outside my reality for some time and art is getting me down to earth.

Looking forward to my Art Rentrée.

In the internal structure of a Led light, when the led is forward biased means anode is on higher potential and cathode is lower potential than the led will on. But it will never on when it is reversed biased. There are many other types of led lights which are used in the remote controls of television. Light emitting diode was first introduced in 1962 in electrical circuits. From that time this diode is used widely for many applications. The wide range of its usage is due to its reliability and long life. The companies which produce led lights are maintaining high standards of quality and excellence. Marlo's Nursery

I finally found the time to take some photos of Marlo's nursery. We welcomed Marlo on July 22nd and have loved every second of our little peanut! While we were pregnant with Marlo, we decided not to find out the gender. Marlo was then known as "Baby W". We attempted to create a gender neutral nursery. The colors were gender neutrual but you could argue that the print of the curtains, rugs, and bedding was a bit feminie. If we had a boy, we decided that we were going to go the "Where The Wild Things Are" route or "Duck Pond" to add a little more masculinity into the room. We ended up having an adorable little girl so we have not made any changes to the decor. Marlo seems to enjoy it so far.

Nursery Before:

Stripes.....YIKES!

Nursery After:
I purchased an extra curtain and a friend of mine from work (Grace) made the bedding! It turned out perfect!

See how I redid this frame here.
I purchased the curtains at World Market and was lucky enough to find the perfect rug at Target!
Check out how I made the "M" monogram here.
Our sister-in-law picked up these wall decals from Sherwin Williams. They fit perfectly with our theme!
I got my inspiration for this wall form this nursery that I found on HGTV's Rate My Space.
Check out how I made the pug silhouettes here.

Overall, we were very pleased with how the nursery all came together. It is a very calm and relaxing room. Check out and vote for our nursery on HGTV's Rate My Space!

Materials used in the nursery:

Crib: Delta Biltmore Crib
Dressers: Amazon
Pain Colors: Grasshopper Wing and Studio Taupe (both Behr brands)

Wooden Pallet Furniture

As I was emptying my recycling today I noticed a huge pile of wooden pallets next to my complex's maintenance building. It got me thinking and I have been imagining wooden pallet furniture. After some serious brainstorming and internet searching, here are some of the best that I have found.

Coming soon: Reclaimed Wreckage furniture

This was one of the coolest and most inexpensive projects I found. It's adorable, functional, and kinda quirky.

I've always wanted a hammock bed in my imaginary backyard with a REAL twin bed like this. Now that I've seen this, I think it might actually become a reality sometime in the next decade or so when I get around to it.

Our Newest Addition!

Sorry we have been MIA from our blog... we have a very good reason!
We welcomed a little girl to Wilsons-and-Pugs on July 22nd.

Lamp Room Design - Minimalist Home Design

Commonly called 'light bulbs', lamps are the removable and replaceable part of a light fixture, which converts electrical energy into electromagnetic radiation. While lamps are often rated in terms of how much power they use in watts, the power does not necessarily correspond to the amount of light produced. For example, a 60 W incandescent light bulb produces about the same amount of light as a

The characteristics that define luxury real estate differ among countries. However, location largely defines the property's value, especially with respect to whether it offers views (particularly, waterfront ones) or amenities such as proximity to golf courses, school districts, and the downtown district. Thus, a 750-square-foot (70 m2) waterfront home with less than 1-acre (4,000 m2) of property

I Wonder.

Two things I love to do:
1st - Looking at people and wonder
2nd - Looking at buildings and wonder

What do they have in common?
Both are alive stories.

Everyday I fall in love with this building.

The way the sun light reflects on this façade is admirable.

Even though I've never been to New Orleans, this building reminds me its architecture from the books I used to flick through when I was a kid (and from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, remember?)

Details like the roof crown, the street lamps and the balustrades are the jewellery of the building. (this one here is abandoned, luckily not for long).

Do you wonder about non-living beings?

My gratitude list for the day

Overall, today has been absolute shit. I mean literally with potty-training this morning and then it came back again when I got a letter from my doctor saying that my MRI came back normal so my arm numbness is cardiovascular- a MUCH bigger deal. Things are scary when you don't know whats going on. Today, I need to focus on the positive.

As a lot of you know I keep a gratitude journal and write down at least 7 great things about each day. Whenever I stop writing for a few days I can tell. I'm moody, hyper-sensitive, and an overall bitch. Since today has been the exceptional, here's my list for today and I thought I'd share it with you:

1. I have an amazing family. My kid is hilarious and wore a robot mask and a superhero cape for most of the day. He makes my day every day and falls asleep in my bed every night. I'm so lucky
2. My husband is my best friend and calls me several times when he's at work just to say hi- I think he's just bored to death, but I love that he misses me when he's away.
3. Although I didn't get as much done today as I had planned, I should still be able to ship out ALL my back-orders tomorrow and be somewhat ready to craft lake city on Saturday.

4. I will have not one, but TWO magazine publications this week. I don't know if I'll ever break that record.
5. Today starts Chris's last day on so he will have an entire week off with us. I can't wait because I could really use a break from motherhood for an hour or two.
6. Thank god for health insurance

7. I'm young and strong willed- so chances are I'll outlive an old person with the same problems
8. I'm in the process of making some kick-ass laptop sleeves. I can't wait to finish 8 tomorrow.
9. My mom calls and checks up on me. She loves me so much.

10. I'll be passed out by eleven and tomorrow will undoubtedly be better.
11. I bought a family dinner tonight at the grocery store. It's my good deed for the day.
12. Did you know that if I moved to Portland I would live only 1/2 hour away from wine country?

13. I have a great little studio where I can make a big mess and nobody cares
14. I only have about a week and a half left on my heart monitor.

I feel much better. Thanks for listening to me whine.
