Green In Kitchens

Green is another popular colour of the upcoming spring season. Though green can work well in any space when used correctly, we think it looks especially good in kitchens. Many shades of green can be used in kitchens, just be careful not to try and incorporate too many shades of green into one space. One of our favourite shades of green is olive green. Like you can see in the picture below, olive green adds class to the kitchen. Having the cupboards painted olive green also gives the kitchen a traditional, almost Mediterranean feel. Keeping the rest of the colours neutral guarantees that the kitchen will not end up with a clashing colour scheme.

If olive green isn't quite your taste, try a brighter green. Lime green is a great example of this. However, it can often be too loud when use on kitchen cabinets, so adding lime green as a backsplash works really well. Unlike the olive which was quite traditional and almost old-world, the lime green backsplash give a kitchen a modern feel. Backsplashes vary in design and material, so the kind you choose is really up to you, but we think that a tile backsplash with a few different shades of bright green looks the best in a modern kitchen.

If you are a big fan of green, don't shy away from it. Green walls can make a kitchen look clean and fresh, and even those who are not used to colourful walls can have a green kitchen without feeling they are travelling too far out of their comfort zone. A lighter green works well in this kind of scenario, especially with white cabinetry in the kitchen. This colour also works really well in a kitchen with lots of natural light, which plays up the freshness of the walls perfectly.
