Mudroom Facelift

I gave our mudroom a quick facelift last night. It was the last room downstairs that still had the original (smokers-yellow) paint color and it was driving me crazy. I searched in our garage and found a leftover color that had just enough in it to paint the small room.
Mudroom before:
Mudroom after it's little facelift:
I found these farm signs at a flea market in Eugene a while back. I loved them but no idea what I was going to do with them. Since it points to the kitchen, I thought it was fitting.
Quote from my husband: "you painted the mud room...the color of mud." :)
Cheap Frame UpDo

As I was going through a closet, I found these 2 framed pictures that I had found for extremely cheap a few months ago. I was not a fan of the pictures, but figured I could do something since they were only a few bucks. It took me a few months but I finally dragged them out, took some scrap booking paper I had laying around, and put new images in them. For no cost at all, they turned out quite cute and look great in our guest bathroom. I think they will enjoy their new life on the wall rather than being tucked away in the closet.
Pug-Art

I have seen a few blogs that have adorable silhouettes of family and pets. We LOVE our pugs and I wanted to find a cute way to frame them as silhouettes because of how silly they are shaped. I had these 2 adorable mirrors that I was not using so I decided to treat them as frames for my new art project.
First, I found pictures of the pugs, sized them to be about equal, printed them on basic copy paper, then cut them out. I then traced the cutouts onto black paper and cut those out.
I took 2 pieces of patterned scrapbook paper and glued the Pug Silhouette's onto them. Tada... homemade Pug-Art!

Our lifestyle changes all the time and design follows our idea of a better , more beautiful and more practical living. Italian design embrace this concept first hand . Every year something new comes out to enhance our living, something which let us think "oh why didn't they do it before!" This year its time to color up our home walls, to let them sparkle and our new wall unit collection is ready to do that. Forget about bulky shelves and spacious cabinets and lean towards simple element in subtle colors which gives a more casual look to the space but yet enhance its elegance.

To let it feel more alive, our walls are dressed up with open storage elements fixed directly on the wall, open element whithout doors to be stuffed up with our belongings and decor objects which create geometrical layouts when combined with other vertical or horizontal elements, shelves, and benches. New details are added like practical perforated doors useful to control tv equipments.

Matt colors have a come back and the house is filled with decorative objects, getting a distance from the minimalistic approach. The house feel fuller and less pretentious. Bold colors are replaced by more daring ones. There are no boundaries and you have finally the chance to get out of the scheme and follow your own taste. You can check our modern wall units on our website at http://www.momentoitalia.com/ and download the catalogs, sizes and colors .

Modern Italian furniture . the way to feel your house incredibly right.
