2012 is the year of Tangerine Tango, a color that is all the craze at the moment, one that is bright, vibrant and very popular in home decor. As a tribute we at Avant-Garde will be creating an entire category of products devoted exclusively to this color. This idea was Edward Saunder's and I had nothing to do with it and I have to admit it WAS A GREAT IDEA ON HIS PART.. TANGERINE TANGO..

While researching this color of the year, I discovered it's apparently a rather big deal in fashion and home decor. I know you're busy, so if you can point me towards where to look, I'll be happy to search for products in this color. I think it would be a good idea to add some products in Tangerine and feature the color..

I made a Tangerine Tango banner, and put together a couple of paragraphs about it if you want to add it to the site.

 

 Every year since 1963, the Pantone Color Institute has selected a color of the year, the one color expected over the next twelve months to have the strongest impact on fashion and home décor. Each year, this global color authority sets standards for housing and other industries with their announcement of that year’s color. For 2012, the color of the year is Tangerine Tango, and it has already made headlines by showing up in retail stores and runway shows earlier this year. After exploding onto the scene with the Spring fashion shows, in the collections of Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore and Adrienne Vittadini among others, designers from every industry have been rushing to be on trend and include this year’s hot new color in all their designs.

Reflecting society’s struggles during difficult times, the 2011 color of the year, Honeysuckle, was chosen to encourage us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. As we begin to see the promise of better times ahead, this year’s selection of the vibrant and spirited Tangerine Tango is meant to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward. According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it. Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”

We at Avant-Garde agree that Tangerine Tango is not only a stunning color, but is also the perfect choice to energize us during 2012 as we look forward to a bright, positive future, and we applaud the Pantone Color Institute for their bold selection. The design of this chair designed by Cate and nelson. By using wood materials and naturally tanned leather ring from Tärnsjö Tannery.The seat is upholstered in polyether foam and down, with moulded birch with a surface of ash veneer. Blå Station is 25 years young in 2011, and Cate & Nelson were commissioned to design a product to commemorate the occasion – B25. The result, B25, also builds on the idea of furnishings as members of a family – creating not just a single item of furniture, but a small series, a group of furnishings or a family based on the same idea and using the same basic components.
